Clubmixer Server is written entirely in Java, so it generally runs on every system providing a Java runtime environment. Nevertheless it uses opensource libraries, which only guarantee to run Microsoft Windows, Linux and MacOS.

Clubmixer adheres to well established open standards which enables it to comminicate with different clients on different operating systems.

Plugin based

Clubmixer is can be configured and extended by plugins. This enables you to choose i.e. different queuecontrols to manually or automatically create your playlists or provide different kinds of access methods (like a web-frontend or via bluetooth).

Plugins incorporate both, a server and a client module. Whereas plugins are installed on the Clubmixer Server, clients get notified of the newly available features. The client module is downloaded directly from the Clubmixer Server.
